Hello again! Today we will continue with Challenge 11 from the Where in the World is Mrs. OSINT? series.
In this write-up, I’ll walk through my investigation step-by-step, showing how I went from vague suspicions about the location to pinpointing the exact coordinates, time of capture, and even identifying the bus routes serving the area.
Let’s get into it!
Challenge 11
Tasks:
- Determine the city/state/country where Mrs. OSINT is standing.
- Determine the exact coordinates where the image was taken.
- What is the name of the street Mrs. OSINT is standing on?
- What time was this photo taken? How do you know?
- Name one open-source tool that could help you verify the GPS location of this scene based on visual cues?
- What behavioral pattern or digital signature in this scenario might suggest the presence of a surveillance actor?
Bonus: What bus number or route typically stops here.
Just looking at the nearby architecture and the license plate I suspected we were somewhere in Europe. With the help of Google Lens, I quickly found a real estate listing from Ocean Home featuring one of the property seen in our image.
The listing revealed a key detail: “the property is located on the corner of Gloucester Road and Avonmouth Road…“.
Armed with this new piece of information I proceeded to search for it on Google Maps and confirmed the match.
The location is in Bristol, England, United Kingdom, specifically Avonmouth Road. Using Google Earth, I estimate the coordinates to be near: 51.50028468749532, -2.6979511280799997.
For the photo’s time of capture, I opened the challenge image in a new tab, right clicked and selected “inspect element”, and noticed the file path hinting at June 2025.
For this challenge I used Exif Tools and pasted the image URL. This gave me a bunch of information like file size/type, image width/height, and more. The screenshot below shows what I believe to be the closest I could get to the original time of creation.
Based on the output from Exif Tool the picture was last modified on Wednesday, 25 June 2025 at 02:13:39 GMT.
The next question was what open-source tool could help you verify the GPS location of this scene based on visual cues? A useful tool for that is Picarta. You upload an image, and it will search its database and try to match it to a location in the world along with its coordinates.
Bonus
Our bonus task is to identify which bus number makes a stop at this location. Zooming in to the bus stop I see the word West in the historical image from 2025. When going back to 2019 I see “Travel West”.
I used this and found Travel West website and used their interactive map to find out which buses make it to this stop.
As of today, the buses that stop at this location are 10, 11, 37, 40, and 41. They state on the website that beginning August 31, 2025 the routes will be changing.

Solution: Picarta
Bonus: What bus number or route typically stops here.
Solution: buses that stop at this location are 10, 11, 37, 40, and 41.
Feel free to answer the last question in the comments, in your own blog post, or on Mrs. OSINT’s website.
This challenge highlighted the power of combining multiple OSINT techniques: visual clue analysis, reverse image searching, mapping tools, and metadata inspection. What started as a street scene with no context unraveled into a precise location, timestamp, and even public transit details.
Mrs. OSINT’s scenarios are more than puzzles, they’re realistic simulations of investigative work where persistence, methodical thinking, and attention to tiny details can lead to big breakthroughs. The next time you’re stuck on an image, remember: even a faint street sign or partial plate can be the thread that unravels the entire mystery.
I hope you enjoyed today’s blog. See you next time!
